Our Exercise Philosophy
When it comes to exercising, more is not always better; better is better. Here at Olympus we never follow any traditions blindly. Just because something was always done a certain way does not make it right. We have found many traditional exercises ineffective and many of them even dangerous. Yet, many people still use them, and even worse, many trainers still teach them. We take a scientific approach to our workouts. We make sure each and every exercise in our programs is effective and carries the lowest risk possible. Our goal is to ensure that our clients get the maximum benefits in the shortest amount of time possible.

As I mentioned earlier, more is not always better; better is better. This is especially true for strength training. At Olympus we use what is referred to as, high intensity strength training. This is by far the most effective workout I have come across, and what is great about it, it takes less than 30 minutes to complete. Wayne Westcott Ph.D., who is considered one of the foremost experts on strength training, has conducted numerous studies comparing high intensity strength training routines with traditional strength training routines, which took twice as long. There is absolutely no doubt that high intensity strength training routines although they only take 30 minutes to complete, are as effective and in many cases, more effective than traditional routines, which took twice as long to complete. Although high intensity strength training sounds tough, actually, unlike many traditional workouts, you will be feeling energetic after the workout not beat.
About Our Nutritional Approach
When it comes to diet, learning what you must eat and how to eat is easy, actually applying that knowledge into your life is the hard part. With our nutritional program we won’t just teach you what to eat and how you should eat; any good diet book can do that. With our nutritional program we will teach you how to make those good eating habits part of your life without overwhelming yourself.
For many of you, what is consider a healthy diet, is very far from the way you are currently eating. Don’t let that overwhelm you. First of all most of you would not need to eat absolutely perfect to lose weight and get in shape. Second, with our nutritional program the transition from the way you are currently eating to the way you should be eating is very gradual, giving you plenty of time to adapt to the new eating habits into your life. The way our approach to better eating habits, works is really simple. Each week you will be making small improvements to your eating habits that would get you closer to the ideal way of eating. At some point you will start losing weight. If you are happy with the amount of weight you are losing each week you do not need to make many more improvements to your diet. My only suggestion is even if you are happy with your weight loss, try, each day, to eat at least the minimum number of servings of vegetables, fruits and beans. They’ll make a huge difference to your health. Keep in mind that the more you exercise, the more forgiving your diet can be.
Results that our clients have gotten through our programs. Jessica Harding: She has lost 40 pounds so far and has only 10 more pounds to go to reach her goal.

With the one on one personal training session, we will be helping you to incorporate three of the four essential keys to permanent weight loss into your life. This type of session has two segments. In the first segment we will be teaching you the most efficient way to strength train that will offer maximum benefits. This part of the session will take around 30 minutes and the whole segment takes place in a private, fully equipped room with just you and the trainer. In the second segment of the session we will be helping you incorporate aerobic training into your life in a way that will not burn you out. The trainer will set you up on the aerobic machine of your choice, and set a goal of the number of calories you will need to burn for that workout. Lastly, we will be helping you with consistency as it relates to your resistance and aerobic training, but not just when you are working out with us. For each of our client we give specific instructions of any exercises they should be doing on their own. We have found giving specific instructions of what our clients should be doing on their own, we increase our clients’ adherence to the overall exercise program, and thus they achieve better results.
The cost of the investment depends on how many personal training sessions you would like to have with us per week.
2 Sessions per Week: $48 per session
3 Sessions per Week: $44 per session
If you would like to have one session per week and use us more as a coach than a trainer, we can do that. We will develop a program that will help you achieve your fitness goals, you will train with us once per week and we will be advising you with what you should be doing on your own for the rest of the week.
About training with us two times per week. ($48 per session)
If you would like to have two sessions per week with us, you will not need to do any resistance training on your own because two resistance-training sessions per week is enough for achieving most people’s goals. Of course you would still need to do more aerobic training on your own, which we will be advising you on how much and how often.
If you choose to have three sessions per week with us, you will definitely not need to do any resistance training on your own, but maybe few aerobic sessions depending on your fitness goals. Three sessions per week is great for people who have very little motivation and know that they will do very little on their own. For people with very little initial motivation, I usually suggest to start with three sessions per week and as their confidence and motivation grows, cut it down to two sessions per week.
Two on One Personal Training
Two on One personal training session is the same as the One on One session with the only exception you will be sharing the trainer with another person. If you have a friend, a husband or wife, a boyfriend or girlfriend that you could workout with, I would advise it. Besides the fact that you will be saving money, you will be motivating each other especially for the exercises you are supposed to be doing on your own.
The Rates for Two on One Personal Training: 1 Sessions per Week: $62 per session (Cost per person: $31)
There is only a $10 charge for the second person
2 Sessions per Week: $58 per session (Cost per person: $29)
3 Sessions per Week: $54 per session (Cost per person: $27) If you need help getting in shape and losing weight but you can’t afford a personal trainer one on one, get the next best thing, Group Personal Training. In Group Personal Training you still get a personalized workout program and you still workout under the supervision of a certified personal trainer at a much lower cost. About Group Personal Training: In Group Personal Training you share the trainer with other people. The number of people per session could vary from 2 up to 8 people. During a Group Personal Training Session you will get a complete weight training workout. The trainer will be keeping track of the amount of weight you will be using for each exercise and will be letting you know when is time to increase the weights or change the exercises. Also the trainer will make sure every exercise you do is performed correctly with good form to insure you get maximum benefits from each workout. In addition the trainer will be giving you personalized advice as to how much aerobics you should be doing on your own and how to go about adding aerobics into your life without burning out. At the end of each session the trainer will be reminding you the amount of aerobics you should be doing on your own and if you are working on your diet with us, the trainer will be reminding you on which eating rule you are supposed to be working on. In Group Personal Training, we don’t just insure that every member of the group gets a great weight training workout. Part of our job is to help each group member make exercise and healthy eating, part of their life. Group personal training is a great way to develop the habits you need in order to achieve the body you want. Most of my clients find my nutritional booklet informative enough, so they do not need to meet with me for the nutritional consultation.
Nutritional Booklet. This booklet is meant to be used in conjunction with our personal training services. As you come in for your personal training sessions your trainer will help guide you through the dietary habits you need to eliminate or establish.

Group Personal Training
Group Personal Training is a 30 minute session.
$15.00 per session if you do only 1 session per week plus sales tax
$12.50 per session if you do 2 or more sessions per week plus sales tax
If you sign up for 8 weeks (2 sessions per week) you will receive 1 free One on One Personal Training Session a value of $52. (New Clients Only)
Currently there are 10 sessions per week dedicated to Group Personal Training. Each week, depending on the number of weekly sessions you have sign up for, you pick which Group Personal Training Session(s) you would like to attend. You can keep the same session(s) each week or you can change them as you see fit. If none of the times available fit your schedule please let us know. We will be adding new Group Personal Training sessions from time to time. If you have a group of 4 or more people we can create a schedule specifically to fit your schedule.

Golf Conditioning Program
Great program if you would like to add more power to your golf swing, have fewer injuries during your golf season and improve your health in the process. With our program you can expect to increase your drive distance anywhere from 5 to 20 yards or more depending on your current fitness level. In addition you can expect fewer injuries during the golf season which means more golf for you. My nutritional booklet contains all the information you need to know about proper nutrition and explains in detail how you can change your current eating habits to the eating habits that will help you achieve the healthy body you want. More importantly this booklet explains how to change your eating habits so the new eating habits become permanent. Only permanent changes can lead to permanent results and this nutritional booklet can really help you make some permanent changes in your diet.
If you need more personalized instruction on how to change your eating habits than what my nutritional booklet provides, you are welcome to come in for this nutritional consultation. During the consultation I would go over what I consider the best way to eat to achieve a lean and healthy body and why. I would go over the eating rules you would need to establish in your life and how you should go about establishing these eating rules without getting overwhelmed.
